Overview

GC CCS Tech Fest 2025 marked a historic milestone for Gordon College's College of Computer Studies as the first ever tech fest organized entirely by its own students. As a 4th year student, I had the privilege of serving as Head Coordinator, overseeing the full planning and execution of what would become a landmark event and the start of an annual tradition for the college. The fest was also a fundraising initiative, with all proceeds gathered through donations, sponsorships, and partnerships across various sectors, dedicated to the renovation of one of the college's laboratories.

The event was packed with competitions, interactive programs, and tech talks from industry experts, including representatives from DICT and DEVCON Pampanga, giving students a valuable opportunity to engage with professionals at the forefront of the tech industry. The overwhelming success of GC CCS Tech Fest 2025 left a lasting impact on the CCS community, laying a strong foundation for the annual tradition it has since become.

Conclusion

Honestly, GC CCS Tech Fest 2025 was one of the most stressful things I have ever put myself through, and I loved every second of it. There is something about that kind of pressure that just brings out the best in you, and looking back, I would not change a thing. Seeing everything come together on the actual day made all the sleepless nights and last minute chaos completely worth it.

What surprised me the most was how much I grew outside of the event itself. I never imagined that as a college student, I would be reaching out to government agencies, sitting down with businesses and firms, and actually convincing them to be part of something we built from scratch. Learning how to carry myself in those conversations, how to communicate, negotiate, and build relationships with people from completely different worlds — that was something I did not expect to take away from this, but I am so glad I did.

This event will always mean a lot to me. It was the first of its kind in our college, and being the one to help make it happen is something I will always be proud of. More than the title or the role, it is the people, the chaos, the lessons, and the memories that I will carry with me long after college.
