Overview

Pleyn is a local clothing and apparel brand with a growing presence on social media. This was an academic project where I connected with the client who needed a simple, well-designed website prototype to represent their brand online. Inspired by the aesthetic of DBTK , the site was built to feel clean, bold, and on-brand.

This was a solo project; I handled both the design and frontend development from start to finish, working with images provided by the client to bring the prototype to life.

Problem

Pleyn had a social media presence, but no website to call their own, and they needed a starting point to change that.

  • The brand existed online through social media but had no dedicated website to showcase their collections properly.
  • Without a site, there was no central space for customers to browse products, check sizing, or learn more about the brand.
  • They needed a working prototype that could serve as the foundation for a future full-scale build.

Solution

The goal was simple: give Pleyn a prototype that looked and felt like a real clothing brand website.

  • Designed and developed the full prototype solo, covering all key pages: Home, Shop, Size Chart, FAQ, and About Us.
  • Drew inspiration from DBTK's aesthetic to align with the brand's visual direction — bold, minimal, and streetwear-forward.
  • Used client-provided images and built the layout around them to keep the brand's identity front and center.
  • Ensured the prototype was responsive, so the experience translated well across desktop and mobile devices.
  • Kept the design clean and navigable, making it easy for potential customers to browse collections and find what they need.

Conclusion

This project gave Pleyn a real starting point, a prototype that captures the brand's identity and lays the groundwork for a full website down the line.

Working on this solo sharpened my skills in designing for responsiveness. Knowing that users would view the site across different devices pushed me to think carefully about how every layout choice would hold up, from desktop to tablet to mobile. It's a mindset I now carry into every project I take on.
